Extended project qualifications provide a great opportunity for students to take alongside their A-Level courses to help boost their university and career applications and build the skills they need for further study and their futures. The extended project qualification enables learners to dive into a topic they are passionate about. Students will attend weekly live lessons as well as work through engaging self-study material throughout the qualification.

As a UCAS-registered centre, Eureka Learning provides tailored support for students progressing onto further study.

What is an EPQ?

EPQ stands for Extended Project Qualification. An EPQ involves independently researching a topic of your choice, producing either a long essay or an artefact with a shorter report, and giving a final presentation. This qualification is worth up to 28 additional UCAS points (equivalent to half an A-Level), making it a perfect opportunity for students to take alongside their A-Levels to help them stand out. Students will develop skills like independent research, project management, and critical thinking, making it a valuable qualification for their futures. The topic chosen for your EPQ should be something you are passionate about, with enough research available to help you compile a project on the topic.

Why should I do an EPQ?

The Extended Project Qualification builds essential skills for students' futures, preparing them for further study at university or career opportunities. In addition to building skills, this qualification also provides up to 28 additional UCAS points, helping to build a prominent application to further study and enabling students to stand out. EPQs are an investment for students' futures, helping them to progress in their goals and teaching them key methods and skills. This qualification demonstrates to universities that a student possesses crucial skills such as critical thinking and independent study, which helps them to differentiate themselves in competitive programs, ultimately making it a valuable asset. EPQs also provide a wonderful opportunity for self-expression, enabling students to take control of their project and study a topic that truly interests them.
